Education at Bachelor's level and Doctoral level is free. No tuition fees are charged & majority of Masters level program are free of tuition fees.
Application procedure is almost same as Norway. IELTS (English proficiency) is required in most of study programs.
The website used for Online Application for Admission in Finnish universities is following.
www.universityadmissions.fi.
Here list of study program and universities available , you can make application of your choice and study field accordingly, that is check out per their criteria later on..
Like Norway, after online Application, next step is to sent all the supporting document to the universities of your program applied i.e if you have applied one or more study programs from same university, one set of supporting document need to be sent to that university, so one set of documents goes to each university that you have applied to..
This system differs from Sweden in  a way that, you can send only on set of supporting document to their higher education, which in turn scan that and sends e-copy of your document to your all applied universities(in Sweden).

Although its about at walking distance but still if you want to make a bus card ...it would cost you around 28 euros(Turku) after 50% student discount n u can travel any where in city any number of time for 1 month.....

No electricity bill,
No gas bill,

2. The rent per month ranges from $110 to $200 for a room in a shared flat. Detailed  Information is below:-
Most of this detailed information is written in context to Turku(city of Finland) but it can be valid for other cities of Finland as well.
It is a long mail..

First of all let me tell you about student accommodation system in Finland.

There is always a "student village"
 in every city.
There are various types of apartment in student village.
You can apply into the student village for an apartment via an e-application. you can fill it online, choose your apartment type(according to space or rent)..
submit the application online...and u will get student village authorities response after 1 and a half month...Do not worry about that whether you would get an apartment or not...
they have a huge student village with few students...so there are always so many rooms available.
After you get response from student village that they have given you a apartment.you can pay deposit and rent of first month(deposit usually 250 euro and rent is around 200 euro).
you may pay this amount before coming to finland,i mean from your country you can transfer this money into student village account...OR you can simply arrive in finland..and pay it afterwards...

Sort of apartments are available in with what facilities

There are usually 4 types of apartment.
1-single room (small)
2-single room (Large)
3-Shared apartment
4-Studio type apartment..

now let me explain them one by one:-

1-Single room (small)

Area=15 Sq. Meter (small room)
(Available stuff: bed,fridge,table,chair)

 Rent=from 160 to 200 euro
Attached washrum.
But kitchen is shared among 10 students may be..like there are 10 rooms in a corridor and one  kitchen in the end  for all students on that corridor..

2-Single room (Large)

Area=22 Sq. Meter (Quiet Big Room)
(Available stuff:  2 beds, fridge,TV,microwave ,two tables,Chair,Quiet open place for living)

A single room is always given to ONE student...

But again kitchen is shared with 10 or 15 ppl.(Usually finnish do not use kitchen most of the time, so no rush, easily you make make cooking)

3-Shared Apartment.

Its a kind of flat with 3 rooms, a kitchen and a washrum with a small area for dining.

Rent is around 160 to 180 euros.

4-Studio :-

Each studio has one big room with a small kitchenette and bathroom (shower+toilet). The size of the studios is 32,5 square meters.
Rent is around 300 euro...

Now Facilities:-

1-Internet connection
 in every apartment..
Just pay yearly fees around 70 euro and access 2 MB CIR link
.
2-Laundry machines
is available in every building .It is  a shared system. Pay 1.5 euro for one time washing,drying.....
3-Sauna...( available
) ..
4-Sports area.
5-Allergy-causings pets, such as cats and dogs are not allowed in the apartments, neither smoking inside the buildings. So smoking not allowed inside rooms.
6-Rooms are excellent..(you would not feel any hot/cold inside it....Temperature fell till -25 C in winter but inside room tempreture is always maintained to 25C.....

7-One more thing..rooms can be furnished and non furnished..

Furnished:-
furnished means u will get a bed without mattress, table chair, cupboard, fridge.but u will pay 5 euro each month for this facility..

Non-Furnished:-
Non furnished means No such thing...you would have an empty room...with ofcourse no extra money.
Now apply as soon as possible, usually quiet early rented out.

4-passport photocopy (first two pages)

Documents which do not need any attestation:

2- statement of purpose or letter of motivation..

3- CV

4- experience letter (as usually they are original, but if photocopy than u may attest it as well....i did not attach any experience letter with my application...its not the requirement )

Comparison between Finland & Sweden

well if you see ranking on web, Certainly you would feel that Swedish educational standard is far much higher then Finland....upto some extent may be its true....but i personally feel that universities like Tampere and HUT are very good and competitive to any Swedish university....

2nd there is a Job perspective....some of the students feel that Finland is good as far as job situation is concerned....but it also depends what choice do you have..? like if you get admission in Lapland Finland(not that much jobs in this Area).

Here in Finland we have opportunities of, paid Thesis, Internships, Regular IT jobs, Funded Phd etc.....

THE UNIVERSITY OF VAASA

Its  Good....Certainly not bad....but most of the people usually prefer HUT, Tampere, Turku or Abo...Various Reasons for this like Job, Community wise in some cases etc.

REPUTATION OF Vaasa "MS TELECOMMUNICATION" PROGRAM

Well, Of course it is a good program....Basically Vaasa is swedish speaking city of Finland and university of Vaasa usually get quite a good amount of Grant from Sweden as well....so must have good labs and other stuff..

WHAT ARE JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN THE CITY OF VAASA

Swedish is second official language spoken in Finland. Few Jobs opportunities, Swedish language is needed for most of the  jobs...It is a coastal area...so there is a ship cleaning company "SOL" which hires foreigners but usually there are lot of Chinese  in this company.....So do not think that there are lot of jobs, but better try that for survival..
But There can be IT programming jobs in Vaasa......so if u know programming very well than i don't think that you will remain unemployed for a long time..but again.....Vaasa is not a industrial city like Tampere nor a capital like Helsinki so Overall  job situation is not very good.

TREND IN FINLAND ABOUT TELECOMMUNICATION MARKET WITH RESPECT TO JOB

There are jobs for programmers like ( C,C++,Java,Symbian,S60 Mobile application development,Linux system programming)....but it does not mean that to get job in 1st week, sometime it takes time to get job...

Apply into Polytechnics or in Bachelors

For Polytechnic or Bachelors, you will need atleast 12 years of education Mostly IELTS is not compulsory in getting admission in Bachelors but its good to have this certificate of IELTS.Normally there is always an admission test conducted by polytechnic before any admission. In pk Finnish embassy in Isb conduct this entry test on behalf of institute OR university can also directly send u test and ask to solve it & resend it to university. Most of the programs at bachelors level are in finnish language but there are also some in English. Now u just need to know the websites of polytechnics...
you may visit http://finland.cimo.fi  or finnish education ministry

If you would like to get admission in Bachelor's degree, you will have to go through Entrance Exam for sure, however for Master's degree Entrance Exam is not required.
Have LAPTOP in Finland/Sweden

Let me tell u about facilities...There is 24/7 Computer Lab,not for engineering or scientific purpose but for those who does not have any PC and wants to Chat/Voice Chat or use internet for surfing....This sort of lab is present in almost every university in Finland . There are Computers in Libraries,Class rooms,Research/Engineering Labs...almost everywhere in university.....
Let me also tell you there are some fellows who passes most of their time in university and thus do not require any PC at home...

This is also an interesting question..If you are an IT Person and really need portability...so that it can affect your studies and performance in Education.....then go for Laptops...Otherwise if you need it for chatting, surfing, watching movies, listening music....Use Desktop...I myself have this experience ....i purchased a laptop last year...but i mostly use it
like a server..and this is very important point my dear fellows.. infact i also did a job in a software house but they give me a new branded PC and i didn't need my laptop over there nor in university....using like a server means. To buy a desktop..it will be much better configuration in same amount..i mean lot of RAM,processor speed & HD...reliable...i.e
you can buy a new laptop,
starts from 400 euro and upto 800  euros.(of course it may be higher depending upon ur need of configuration)..you may check latest prices from below link..
http://www.gigantti.fi or other stores available.

New Desktop, Starts from 300 Euro and upto 800 Euros. Its really cheap as compare to laptops with same configuration...IF a laptop with same configuration would cost you 600 euros than Desktop 300/400 euros...so clear difference.

Second Hand PCs, Second hand or Refurbished computers are also available...There are various websites and also some shops do this business. They are quite cheap...1 week ago i saw a 2nd hand PC in 100 euros with good configuration...

Air Travel to Helsinki(Finland) Flights , Tickets & Luggage Limits
:
possible routes are as follows

1-Turkish Airline (Shortest) khi-istanbol-Helsinki (43K PKR)
2-PIA+Lufthansa  Khi-Dubai-Frankfurt-Helsinki    (37K PKR)
3-PIA+KLM         Khi-Dubai-Amsterdam-Helsinki (41K PKR)

Let me also tell u there is luggage limit of 20 Kg in ur suitcase  & 10 Kg in Hand carry.
PIA has only one advantage... i.e; of luggage .....u may take more than 20 KG with u....
otherwise if u have some persons in Airport who can pass ur extra luggage OR if u dun have stuff more then 20 Kg than u may also opt for TURKISH airline..
I would suggest turkish airline....
shortest path...min. stay.....infact only one stay at istanbol....
but it is just a bit expensive... .2K or 3K more....

To Reach to your Desired City Location after landing at Helsinki
As you come out from Airport you will find Inter-city bus station.u can find your bus to lappeenranta or Tampere from there..about 25 or 30 euro fare one side.

Weather conditions in Finland:
Tough weather conditions. In winter temperature can fall upto -30 C with darkness everywhere...only 3 hours day in winter...opposite in summer...only 2 hours night......but temperature inside rooms is always maintained to +25C.Heaters are everywhere..in bus, university, classes, restaurants, shops everywhere..

Living Problems in Finland

( 1 ) Living problems :

i - LONG DARK WINTER season...temp can fall upto -25 C v easily.....

ii- Finland is in TOP 3 nations as far as living standard is concerned so that is why IT IS ALSO VERY  EXPENSIVE COUNTRY TO LIVE...

For Muslims, Mosques available at uni campus or in your area?
YES

Halal food is easily accessible or totally not?
YES easily available.

One thing i really love to know about these Scandinavian countries, if it is said that sun remain
for six months and no sun after six months, then how is prayer timing set when their is no sun ?
This is not true in Finland. It is not a complete 6 month long night or day in finland(only in norway in some parts of sweden).Shortest day length is about 6 hours in month of november similarly shortest night length is about 4 hours in month of june .Prayer timings are adjust by local mosque authorities or Islamic centres..I have not yet encounter any difficulty in offering prayers as far as timings are concerned..

Also love to know once you graduate or post graduate you find jobs easily or you just then have to leave the country immediately within some time?
Hundred of student got jobs after degree completion as far as i have seen, so more opportunities.Mostly get their job.or they find various other means to live here..like going for Phd etc..Finnish authorities do not ask you, to leave finland ultimately infact they give you some time to find any job over here if you are interested.

As international you have to pay taxes or are they waived?
Yep, We have to pay taxes.

Finnish People.
Very nice but they are very shy people.Honest, gentle, kindful.
